no o o you guessed wrong! It is not Ofada rice. This is Sunset with the local
Bini Epic...
RICE
MIMI GIOGIO.... I went back to back in days while I was still in BENIN and you
have these women Hawking this hot rice early in the morning wrapped in Broad
leaves, stew cooked with bleached Palm oil. The difference with the Ofada stew,
(Ayamase) is that Ofada contains a lot of IRU( locusts Beans seeds) and this
does not. Ummmmm sunset for me this evening in BENIN with this yum.

Recipe....
Ingredients
8 pieces Assorted Beef cooked and fried
8 piece of fried mackerel, croaker or hake fish
6 pcs dry tatarshe (seeds off soaked in water)
8 pcs dry Shombo ( soaked in water)
6 pcs dry Rodo pepper
10 pcs sun dried tomatoes
10 pcs long dried pepper
2 large Onions
Palm oil just enough to cook
2 cups of beef stock
Seasoning/ salt
Method:
-Drain the tatarshe and Shombo put in a blender
- Add the washed tomatoes, peppers, onions and blend Coarsely.( not smooth) with little water
-Heat oil in a covered pot till well bleached and turn off the heat. Allow to settle down before opening or take the pot out and open to prevent smoking the whole house. ( coughing galore) Hahahaha
- Add the blended peppers, seasoning and fry till well fried
- Add the assorted beef and stock stir well and add the fish. Give the pot a little shake cover and allow to simmer on low heat for 6 min, stir gently and turn off the heat.
- Serve with Ekpoma rice and dodo on broad leaves.
