Nigeria’s Former Vice
President, who also holds a traditional title of Aare Adimula of
the Source, Alhaji Atiku Abubakar, congratulates Oba Adeyeye Enitan
Ogunwusi on his coronation as the 51st Ooni of Ile-Ife. He also wishes the new
king a long and eventful reign.
Atiku, in a congratulatory
message said he had admired the youthfulness and resourcefulness of Oba
Ogunwusi since he was unveiled as the choice of the kingmakers to the stool of
the Ooni.
According to Atiku, “the
choice of Oba Ogunwusi venerates the totemic deep wisdom, courage and
resourcefulness which the throne of the Ooni is widely acknowledged for.
“It is not in doubt that
Your Royal Highness made an early start in building a career and reputation in
the private sector of the economy, which is a source of inspiration for many
young Nigerians.
“Your footprints in the real
estate sector of the economy will continue to create the pathways for generations
to come that with an early start and an eye on focus, it is possible to attain
greatness.
“Kabiyesi, while
wishing you a very long and prosperous reign on the stool of your forefathers,
let me remind you with every sense of modesty of the additional responsibility
that your youthfulness has put on your shoulders, which is to mentor and
inspire youths to industry through education across every parts of the African
continent, especially Nigeria.
“Your coronation today is an
epochal event for many of the youths in Yorubaland as it will be their first
experience to witness the coronation of a very high ranking traditional ruler
from that part of the world.
“Such an epochal experience
could also be an opportunity to open a new chapter that will revise and
reinvigorate the significance of traditional leadership in Nigeria.
“Once again, I congratulate
you and together with my wife, Titi, who is the Yeye Adimula of the
Source, we say: Ki Ade pe’lori, irukere a di okinni.’
