At long last, the troubled marriage of actor, Tonto Dikeh
has finally been put to an end as the estranged husband, Mr. Churchill Olakunle
has gone to collect back the bride price paid by his family during the
traditional wedding which took place in Rivers State.
In a letter written by Tonto’s family, the RUMUEHIO-OKAHIA
FAMILY in Rumuokaina Clan, Rumuokwuta, ObioAkpor Local Area in Rivers State and
dates 26th June 2017, the family ACCEPTED TO REFUND TO CHURCHILL
OLAKUNLE and his family, the bride price paid as custom demanded.
With the refund made and accepted by the family of
Churchill, the marriage between Tonto Dikeh and Chirchill Olakunle stands dissolved
traditionally.
What awaits the couple now is the legal dissolution after
meeting the requirements stipulated by law for marriages to be dissolved.
Churchill's uncle, Bishop Dare
led a delegation to meet with Tonto Dikeh's father, Chief Sunny Dikeh in
Portharcourt to collect the bride price they paid over a year ago and explained
that getting married to Tonto in the first place was a mistake.
Let me use this medium to correct the impression going round
that it was Tonto Dikeh and her family who initiated the return of the bride
price. Reading the letter attached herewith, you will understand that it was
the Olakunle family that initiated the move to have the bride price returned.
I do not understand exactly how they missed it but what I would
say on this matter is that, ALL THAT GLITTERS ARE REALLY AND TRUTHFULLY NOT
GOLD and I would also advice ladies not
to trap nor hook men with PREGNENCIES because that would never make room for
marriage sustenance.
Tonto Dikeh makes history as the second actor whose bride price has been returned following Ini Edo's who had to return the price on her head by her former husband.
