REPRESENTATING WITH PASSION, My Mid-Term Score Card---Hon. kelechi Onuzuruike.

 When Honourable Kelechi Onuzurike embarked on the political journey of wanting to represent his people (Umuahia North State Constituency) at the Abia state House of Assembly, little did he know he was going to receive the tremendous level of support and acceptance he got while asking for their votes, for Honourable Onuzuruike no sacrifice is too much to render in the cause of developing Ohuhu and improving the living standard of his constituents which is paramount to him.

Within the last two years of Honourable Kelechi Onuzuruike’s representation at the Abia state House of Assembly, his midterm score card speak volumes of his passion and willingness to develop his constituency, Honourable Kelechi Onuzuruike has in no small way impacted on his constituency the dividends of democracy in defiance of the challenging economic situation.

In line with his core mandate he has sponsored, co-sponsored bills and moved motions, example the bill on the need seeking to establish an environmental trust fund in Abia State as it has been the practice in cities like Lagos, he has also sponsored bills seeking to make Agricultural Science a module in our secondary schools, Honourable Onuzurike has also raised matters of urgent importance on the floor of the house compelling ASEPA to live up to its billing as an agency of the government charged with the mandate of cleaning the environment of refuse amongst other important matters

 He had also expanded the Nkwoegwu market through the construction of a modern abattoir and lines of stores using modern facilities, he also renovated the Umuokehi market which before now was in a ramshackle condition with torn roofs and inconducive for any form of trading activities, the renovation of Umuawa Alaocha civic hall inline with his promises to the community during the campaigns and its now 90% completed, he had also reconstructed the Umuakam Nkwoegwu village hall.

Honourable Kelechi Onuzuruike’s football talent hunt, tagged Ohuhu Unity Cup which attracted foreign scouts to Ohuhu clan, had produced players like master Kelechi Ebeniro from Umuawa Alaocha now playing abroad courtesy of Honourable Onuzuruike, three other players spotted by the scouts during the Ohuhu Unity Cup, have also received call ups from foreign teams with their visas already obtained in readiness for takeoff any time soon.

Honourable Onuzuruike had also set up a free medical aid scheme, with the aim of taking care of the health of his constituents with indigent women and children being on the first line charge and also an education endowment scheme which takes care of indigent members of his constituency who are unable to take care of their tuition fees.  

 Hon. Kelechi Chiadikobi Onuzuruike also attracted the federal government financed upgrade of Nkwoegwu maternity to a model clinic; he achieved this using his vast political contacts and friendship with the Chairman House committee on Health care Services, Hon.Dcn Chike Okafor member Representing: Obowo, Ehime Mbano Fed Constituency from Imo State.

Inline with his youth empowerment scheme for his constituency, Hon. Onuzuruike, is on the final lap of setting up a skill acquisition center in Ofeme, this scheme on takeoff will train Ohuhu youths in different skills and get them gainfully engaged upon graduation.

Honourable Onuzuruike's, legal aid scheme, is a scheme setup to protect the rights of any Ohuhu man or woman who by virtue of financial incapacitation, his/her rights is being threatened.

Honourable Onuzuruike, though not a stranger to government functionalities, but he is a first time representative of the Ohuhu clan in the states house of assembly and within his two years in office, he has been able to record these substantial achievements despite the legal battle that he has been engrossed in concerning his nomination as the APGA flag bearer in the 2015 election.

As a Personal Assistant to Governor Rochas Okorocha he has donated and installed electricity transformers in some communities in Ohuhu, he has also graded roads in so many communities within Ohuhu and given out soft loans to petty traders to enable them ply their trades and feed their families.

To Honourable Onuzuruike service to his people is not only a duty, but one that must be carried out with utmost sense of  diligence, responsibility, love and care for his people, to him, the development of Ohuhu is a job that must be done and that, he had just begun.Kaycee Onuzurike
