A new Policy Development Plan tagged " Blueprint To Progress ", the compilation of reports of the Strategic Development and Policy Implementation Committee, SDPIC, constituted by Arakunrin Oluwarotimi Akeredolu, SAN, Ondo State Governor immediately after winning the November 26th, 2016 Governorship Election in the state  has been unveiled.

The Blueprint, which the Governor described as a  " Compendium of Recommendations for the Administration of All Sectors as Guide for Governance", " a veritable template through which viability of programmes is measured" ," a check list " and" scientific guide which approximates the visions of serious leaders "   was unveiled in a  short ceremony at the International Centre For Culture and Events, (The Dome), Akure.

The Deputy Governor, Alfred Agboola Ajayi, who was the Chairman of the Steering Committee in his welcome address thanked the Governor for the confidence reposed in him and other members of the committee to serve at such a  crucial time in the life of the State.

He further explained that, it was the avowed commitment of Governor Oluwarotimi Akeredolu to transform the lives of the good people of Ondo State, which preceded his 2016 electoral victory has been the driving force.

The Strategic Development and Policy Implementation Committee comprised 251 men and women of enviable records and outstanding experience in their chosen careers.  The committee  was divided into twelve Sub-Committees to transform the five Cardinal campaign programmes christened " Programmes of Change" with the acronym- JMPPR:

J- Job Creation Through Agriculture, Entrepreneurship and Industrialization

M- Massive Infrastructure Development and Maintenance

P- Provision of Functional Education and   Technical Growth

P-Provision of Accessible and Qualitative Health Care and Social Services Delivery &

R- Rural Development and Extension Services

The above are to be transformed  into concrete action plans of the Government.

The Governor took time to extol virtues and commitments of members thanking them for abandoning their private businesses for this onerous state assignment.

He emphasized the significance of planning.
" We recognize the significance of planning for the realization of any aspiration towards real development.

" We are convinced that there can be no impactful strides taken by any Government without adequate planning", he said.

The Governor also revealed that he made solemn  pledge to the people that their welfare was going to be the directive principle of his government. He therefore directed all state functionaries to adopt the development plan to effect positive change in the life of the people.

With this, Governor Akeredolu may have finally cleared  the minds of few people in the state who still doubt his good intention and clear headedness towards providing  good governance and credible leadership for the State.

The last time Ondo State had a development plan was during Dr Olusegun Agagu's administration and it was called Roadmap to Progress.
