Yobe State Governor, Gaidam Rejoices with KSA on National Day

Yobe State Governor, His Excellency, Gov. Ibrahim Gaidam recently joined numerous dignitaries and well-wishers to rejoice with the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia (KSA) and its King, Salman Bin Abdul ‘Azeez as the country marked its national day on September 23rd.

 In a speech at a commemorative event organized by the Saudi Consulate in Kano on Saturday, the governor said the Saudi National Day ceremony is an opportunity “for deep reflection on the milestones that have been achieved by the Kingdom…and for the review of the historic cultural ties between Saudi Arabia and Nigeria”.
H.E Gov. Gaidam travelled down memory lane to situate the relations between the old Kanem Borno empire, comprising of present day Borno and Yobe States, and the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, saying relations between Nigeria and Saudi should continue to wax even stronger.
 “We should continue to diversify and strengthen these relations for the mutual benefit of our countries”, he said.
 A Commemorative Cake to mark the Saudi Day was jointly cut by the Vice Consul-General of the Saudi Consulate Mr. Yousef Ibrahem Alghamdi and visiting dignitaries, including H.E Gov. Gaidam, Kano deputy governor Prof. Hafeez, Governor Atiku Bagudu of Kebbi State, Governor Badaru Abubakar of Jigawa State and the deputy governor of Zamafara State Alhaji Ibrahim Wakkala.
The Vice Consul-General of the Saudi Consulate Mr. Yousef Ibrahem Alghamdi, in his remarks, said the bilateral relationship between Nigeria and Saudi Arabia has been growing for many years in many areas and will continue to get stronger in the years ahead.
