Gov. AKINWUNMI AMBODE: Oworonshoki Youths Cry Out To "Your Excellency" Sir.

An appeal has gone out to the amiable governor of Lagos State, Mr. Akinwunmi Ambode from the Council Of Oworonshoki Youth Forum asking that the governor kindly come to the rescue of a government owned school in the area, Muslim College.

In a letter signed by Hon. Kabiawu Babajide Ignatius and addressed to the governor, the youth organization is requesting for an elevation in the status of the college reputed to have graduated a lot of individuals who are highly placed in Lagos State today.

According to them, the increasing number of the population of people in Oworonshoki makes it imperative to adequately improve on the standard of both the structures in the school and the environment where the school is located, while at the same time, equipping the school and its work-force with the wherewithal to perform better in its given locality.
Speaking with “Precious Eze’s Blog”, Hon. Ignatius said that what they are requesting for are not things the government cannot do, as the governor is trying his best to uplift the image and standard of Lagos, he should also look into the matter of constructing more buildings, laboratories to make room for a better learning environment for both the teachers and the students in Muslim College, Oworonshoki.

The number of students in each classroom, Ignatius says, is unprecedented and alarming is the fact that we cannot do anything about this situation but wait for government to heed our pleas because, this is one of the best schools we have around, so, making it worth our while would make a whole lot of sense to us.
We therefore plead that the governor listens to us and answers us before things go out of hand here, even as we ask that a committee be setup by the governor for evaluation purposes and as contained on the letter, a split of the school into two schools, namely, Muslim College and Oworonshoki Grammar School won’t be a bad idea after-all.
