Lara Owoye-Wise Wins "Professional Excellence Award In Journalism 2017".

The Special Assistant to the Deputy Speaker of the House of Representatives, Yusuf Suaiman Lasun, Lara Owoye-Wise was today honoured in Abuja amongst the gathering of her colleagues, the Nigerian Union of Journalists, FCT Council, Abuja.

A delight to see on TV as Lara was with the DAAR Communications Group, owners of AIT and Raypower FM stations across Nigeria, before her appointment to the position of SA, Media to the deputy speaker, who found in her, same qualities the NUJ Abuja saw and recognized her for.

Lara Wise was bestowed with the "Professional Excellence Award In Journalism 2017" today at the Press Week 2017 of the NUJ with the theme, JOURNALISM and the NATIONALISM QUESTION, held at the Ladi Kwali Hall.

Speaking with Precious Eze's Blog, Ma'am Lara Wise as we would fondly call her, told us how elated she was when receiving the plaque.

In her words, "The award today showed to me that even though i had left prime-time journalism as it were, the contributions i make in the industry on a daily basis are being noticed and taken record of and i am very happy about that". I am very happy she says, and naturally elated that i am honoured amongst my people.

When asked if she misses anything on TV, she says no way!!!!
I practice in my room everyday.
Still do my usual interviews and anchor my news everyday but now, I do these more in my room facing my mirror, so, i haven't lost touch but because i have another jobs as an Aide to the Honourable Deputy Speaker of the House of Representatives, i must focus, do my job well, deliver on my mandate and when I'm done with my National assignment, will go back to my first love, BROADCASTING.
