Since the news of the approval by the president, Muhammadu
Buhari of Nigeria for the immediate flying abroad of former vice president, Dr.
Alex Ekwueme, who fell into coma a few days ago, little or nothing has been
heard from those who call themselves Biafra.
One expect these set of people to come out in strong terms
to condemn this action of the president, condemn the family of Dr. Alex Ekwueme
for accepting the gesture from Nigeria and demand for a reversal from the
presidency of the approval and then, demand for the Ekwueme’s family to
outrightly reject the flying of the elder statesman abroad for treatment.
Instead, they have remained very silent.
This was exactly how these urchins remained silent while
Chief Odumegwu Ojukwu, the Biafran lord was given a national burial and with Nigerian
flag on his casket. These same people would turn-around to accuse the federal
government of marginalizing them in Nigeria and something this big would happen
and non of them is talking?
The approval covered the immediate charter of an Air
Ambulance for emergency movement and all the cost of his treatment abroad.
The question now is, are Igbos really being marginalized?
