This
is the first time anything like this is happening in Lagos where a Local Government
Chairman would deny the orders of the Governor of the state to do exactly what
pleases him as against what the governor wants and had directed to be done in a
particular Local Government.
This
was what happened at the Ikosi-Isheri Local Council Development Area, LCDA over
the appointment of Secretary to the Local Government and Supervisory
Councilors.
Information
has it that the Chairman of the council, Oyesanya Abdulfatai who was said to
have the backing of one Hon. Bayo Oshinowo, member, Lagos State House of
Assembly, representing a part of Kosofe blatantly refused the suggested list of
candidates presented by Governor Akinwunmi Ambode to the Local Government for
the positions earlier stated, claiming that the governor was in no position to
recommend anybody to them and would not regard them nor swear in the candidates
into their respective offices, instead he swore in his own candidates into
office as early as 6:30am on Monday.
This
is crazy though.
The
list suggested by the governor included: Mrs Kafayat Filaoye (SLG) and Olalekan
Folake Azeez, Idowu Ashimi, Mrs Funke Alabi, Gbadesare Isiaka Fashola and Ajayi
Olaniyi Isaac as supervisory councilors, but was disobediently replaced with
Dolapo bashiru as SLG and Sikiru Alabi, Fatoki Kehinde, Yemi Oshofa, Abideen,
Awokoya Sukanmi , Alhaji Adisa as supervisory councilors.
They
were sworn in by one Barrister Mutiu Ajisebutu and in the presence of the
Clerk, Mr Kehinde Fashola.
If
this act of the LCDA Chairman not a slap on Governor Akinwunmi Ambode, then
what is?
