Born in the early 80’s to the family of Mr. & Mrs.
Ogunolu of Apomu in Isokan Local Government Area in Osun State, Comrade Ogunolu
Samsideen Opeyemi, House Of Assembly hopeful of Osun West, Isokan LGA, Osun
State is a young man who believes he has a lot offer his generation through
quality representation at the state House of Assembly where he is vying to be
voted into.
Though he hasn’t picked a party’s ticket yet, as according to
him, he is still consulting among his constituents, Opeyemi is gradually
positioning himself amongst political players in not only the state of Osun,
but those in his Local Government Area whom he would need as he tries to represent
them in the House of Assembly.
He attended the Zion Methodist Primary School, Ota, Ogun State, finished in 96/97, from where he proceeded to the Ansaru-Deen Comprehensive College, but graduated from Local Government Commercial Secondary School, Atan Ota in 2003/2004.
Comrade Ogunola Opeyemi had his higher education at the Osun State Polytechnic, Iree, where he obtained his OND and HND in Accounting and from where his student and youth leadership sprang up and had seen him contribute immensely to the development of young people in his state.
He has in so many ways intervened in struggles between students and governments, especially the reduction of Osun State Higher Institutions School Fees between Students and Osun State Government in 2010, ASUU and FG in 2013, NAPS and ASUP in 2014 in Abuja and so many others.
As a very bright student in Secondary School, Opeyemi was given roles and responsibilities that his contemporaries were not opportuned to get, either by luck, or for the brilliance he exhibited then, but truly, he occupied various positions that endeared him to the school and his mates. From Best Accounting Student, to representing his school in Social outings, to being an Assembly Prefect, Comrade Ogunola Opeyemi’s turnout now would not surprise some of his mates in his school days in Secondary School. He was also Vice Amir, MSSN and former coordinator, Ansaru Deen Comprehensive College Old Students Association of his set.
When
he got to the Osun State Polytechnic, his real self exploded with the showcase
of his innet talents, as he steadily moved from being just a Secondary School
chap, to assuming more positions of authority, but now, in a higher
institution. He was Chairman, Welfare Committee
of an Academic and Faculty Club called Excel Club in his ND days.
He is Founder and Former National President of the
National Association of Nigerian Comrades (NANC), President of Ifelodun
Community, Onipan Ota, Ogun State, Former General Secretary, Junior
Chamber International (JCI), Kwara State Chapter, Former Director of
Mobilization and Extension, Junior Chamber International (JCI), Kwara State
Chapter, current Speaker, National Youths Assembly of Nigeria (NYAN),
Osun State Chapter and APCCF, National Orgnizing Secretary.
Arguably, the youths are coming out to take their pride of
place in the polity and with people like Comrade Ogunolu Samsideen Opeyemi who
has just given himself for use by the people of Osun West, Isokan LGA for the
Osun State House of Assembly, the future can only look brighter for the
participation of youths in the political space in Nigeria.
