A
whistleblower gave the information to ICPC in Bauchi Zonal Office that a
retired civil servant, named Sanusi Muhammad Isa, who is a close associate of
the former Governor of Bauchi state, Malam Isa Yuguda, and had served as
personal assistant to the former Governor.
The
information furnished to the ICPC by the whistleblower led to the discovery of
200 houses, belonging to Sanusi Muhammad Isa, which are allegedly worth over N20
billion. See attached property pictures and court documents. There are
allegedly more houses which the ICPC is yet to recover.
Whenever
the whistleblower visits the ICPC zonal office in Bauchi to enquire about
progress of the case, he is told that the case has been sent to their
Headquarters and is awaiting legal proceedings. He was made to understand from
a reliable source from within the High Court in Bauchi that there was an
interim perpetual order that was filed by ICPC one month ago, but the ICPC are
not ready to argue it because of alleged conspiracy between the accused and the
ICPC Chairman. The order was filed in Hight Court no 4 in Bauchi.
CUPS
was made to understand that the Acting Chairman of ICPC, Alhaji Bako Abdullahi,
who is also from Bauchi State, has allegedly taken bribes worth millions from
the accused, Sanusi Muhammead Isa, to kill off the case. Hence the alleged lack
of interest by the ICPC to argue the case at the High Court.
It
can be recalled that Alhaji Bako Abdullahi was nominated as Member of ICPC by
Mallam Isa Yuguda, when he was the Governor of Bauchi State.
