The
Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer of the Niger Delta Development
Commission, NDDC, Nsima U. Ekere has just been awarded the Sun Newspapers
Public Service Award.
According
to him, “This award is a validation of our efforts in making the NDDC a better
institution and the Niger Delta, a region of sustainable economic growth and
livelihood’’.
Mr.
Nsima Ekere continued,”We will continue to do all within our power to fulfil
our mandate of facilitating the rapid, even and sustainabe development of the
Niger Delta into a region that is economically prosperous, socially stable,
ecologically regenerated abd politically peaceful.
The
Sun Awards is in celebrations of the 15th anniversary of the Sun
Newspapers and this years award is holding at the prestigeous Eko Hotels and
Suits, Lagos.
Nsima
Ekere beat Dr. Godwin Emefiele of CBN, the MD of the Nigerian Stock Exchange
and others to clinch the award.
