Former Vice President and leading
presidential hopeful of the Peoples Democratic Party, Atiku Abubakar has
trounced President Muhammadu Buhari in an online poll.
In
the first poll online poll conducted since the Buhari administration marked its
third anniversary on May 29, Atiku polled 43% as against Buhari’s
35%. Blogger and online newspaper publisher, Omoyele Sowore and former
deputy governor of Central Bank of Nigeria, Dr Kingsley Moghalu polled 7% and
15% respectively.
In
the Twitter poll conducted within 24 hours of President Buhari’s celebration of
his third year anniversary via @markessien handle, respondents were asked a
straightforward question: “Who would you vote for in 2019
Presidential Election?”
An
overwhelming majority of the 9,067 respondents voted for Atiku, giving him an
8% edge over President Buhari as at the close of voting Wednesdaymorning.
The
poll is coming on the heels of latest NOI Poll which shows that the Buhari
administration’s popularity has dropped to 41%.
