“CHRISLAND UNIVERSITY” The Grown Baby Of Chrisland Schools, Where Tertiary Education Is Made Comprehensively Affordable In Nigeria?

 Growing up, the line, “DO NOT DESPISE THE DAYS OF LITTLE BEGINNINGS” was rang to us in our family to the extent that it become a constant song in our mouth each time someone’s business ideas were discussed or talked about and this could also be attributable to the beginning for the Awosika’s when the pregnancy of the prestigious Chrisland Schools was conceived.


Chrisland Schools, started in a two-room BOYS-QUARTER apartment on Ladipo Oluwole in the Ogba area of Lagos has today, grown in leaps and bounds that it has become a reference pointer when delivery of quality education and the running of same is brought to bear in the educational sector not only in Nigeria, but in Africa as the school has become such a role model of what a private educational institution should be.

October 3rd, 1977 was the day the birth of the child, Chrisland was announced, a school that catered for the needs of her immediate environment, burn out of a huge passion to fulfill the dreams of the founder, High Chief Mrs. Winifred Awosika who without the knowledge of her darling husband, started a passion that has grown to be mother to plenty of children as we know them today.

Not only did the expansion extent to the Opebi area of Lagos, the school has presence in Idimu, Lekki, Abuja, Ajah, about to launch that of Festac and the very enormous one, Chrisland University, Abeokuta, Ogun State, which is regarded amongst private universities of same standard as the cheapest, most secure and most conducive.

 Officially opened for the public in 2015, Chrisland University, Abeokuta which started out with Seven (7) students has over a Hundred (100) of students coming from all the geopolitical zones of the country to seek very efficient, qualitative but reasonably priced education that only Chrisland University could offer especially at this time.

The Vice Chancellor of the school, Professor Chinedum Peace Babalola said in one of her speeches that Chrisland University if driven on vision which is evidently vibrating all around the school as all it takes to make quality individuals after graduation from the school is provided and within reach to the extent that we stand tall ahead most of the very flamboyant private institutions you see around today in terms of quality education deliverable here, the ambience is superb, the quality of the lecturing staff is second to none, with students characters shaped to face the world and conquer after schooling here.

According to her, Chrisland University seeks to use Character, Integrity, Leadership, Intelligence, rapped round quality education to transform our generation.

Here, Prof. Babalola says, is a place where value is placed on performance through detailed exploit in education as we make efforts to give our very best and nothing but the best to any student who comes in contact with Chrisland University.

It is our desire therefore the VC says, to leverage on the fact that we are almost, if not the best, going by the image of the well known Chrisland School’s legacy to impact society through our calling which is to educate the best way possible, every child here and to churn out graduates who may not look for jobs, but immediate employers of labour in their various fields as we deliver market ready students with certifications in Entrepreneurship running concurrently with their normal studies here.

Chrisland University has two colleges at the moment namely, the College of Arts, Social and Management Studies with subjects such as Accounting, Economics, Business Administration, Banking & Finance, Political Science, Criminology & Security Studies, International Relations, Mass Communication, Philosophy, English, History & International Studies and Psychology.

The other College is that of Natural and Applied Sciences with courses such as Computer Science, Microbiology, Biochemistry, Industrial Chemistry, Chemistry, Mathematics and Biology.
