Rochas and Eze Madumere. |
The
way and manner politics is being played in my home state, Imo worries me to
death and I wonder sometimes if there is more to all the noise being made by
Social Media practitioners, especially those of them on the PAYROLL of the
major players in the bid of the current governor to make Imo State a family
business and this was in display recently after the governor, Rochas Okorocha
staged his 7th anniversary as governor and Democracy day
celebrations.
One
of the ladies I respect so much, Joi John wrote and I here quote:
“I
didn’t see the Imo Deputy Governor (Prince Eze Madumere) at the event marking
Democracy day held in my home state yesterday. He should have attended except
he was unavoidably out of town. Aside politics, I know Governor Okorocha and
Madumere have come a long way. It’s sad to see over 20 years of friendship
decay like this.
If the center can no
longer hold, the honourable thing to do at this point is to resign like we saw
the Bauchi Deputy Governor do recently”.
In this write-up, Joi John suggested that a Deputy Governor
resigns over the fact that he did not attend a state event for which his boss,
the governor did not invite him for without asking questions to know what the
facts were?
On the 29th of May, 2018, the Deouty Governor of
Imo State, Prince Eze Madumere as a matter of his obligations to Ndi-Imo was in
Owerri, the state capital and no invitations nor “GOVERNMENT MEMOS” as
protocols demanded was extended to him and his office from either the governor’s
office or the office of the Secretary to State Government and someone was
suggesting he resigns over not being invited to the 7th anniversary
event of the state government?
ONE WONDERS HOW MUCH MONEY WOULD HAVE CHANGED HANDS IN THIS
THEIR NEW CALL TO TARNISH THE IMAGE OF EZE MADUMERE ON SOCIAL MEDIA.
So, would Madumere as Deputy Governor
have walked into an event uninvited so they would have the opportunity to kill
him and call it whatever they liked?
Imagine that the office of the Deputy
Governor has become sooo insignificant that a state event would be planned, held
with other guests invited and the Deputy Governor of the state was not invited
and some people are of the opinion that he should have dressed up and walked
into the venue of the event because he is Deputy Governor?
THIS IS POLITICAL ILLITERACY in its
highest order.
I therefore would advice that some of
you who write for Uche Nwosu and Rochas Okorocha should find your ways to the
government house in Imo State or anyone around where you live to ask questions
about how government protocols work.
And for your information people, the
Deputy Governor of a state cannot walk into an event either hosted by the
Governor or anyone else, if not properly and officially invited or sent by his
boss, the governor (OFFICIALLY TOO).
Get these into your very TICK SKULLS.
