Asiwaju Bola Tinubu and Chief Remi Adiukwu. |
One
of the strongest woman in the politics of Lagos State, Chief Mrs. Remi Adiukwu,
formerly known and referred to as Adiukwu-Bakare who fell out with the National
Leader of the then Alliance for Democracy, AD, which metamorphosed into what we
know today as All Progressives Congress, APC, Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu has
reconciled with the National Leader and has rejoined the party.
Chief
Adiukwu who left the party over some disagreements which bothered on bad
treatments meted on her after she made her intentions to be governor of Lagos
State towards the end of Asiwaju's tenure as governor, decided to make a return
to her HOME-BASE in her bid to help reshape and refocus Nigeria with Muhammadu
Buhari as President.
According
to her, I am happy that I am returning back to where I started from, and my
reason for this return is to contribute my quota in building the Nigeria we all
had been clamouring for and there is no other way to achieve this than a return
to the APC, to joins hands with other democrats to make Nigeria what we had
ever wished for from the outside.
APC,
known then as AD and later, ACN was where I made name, having served Lagos as
Commissioner and I am happy that I am returning to join my brothers to make not
only Lagos, but Nigeria great.
It
would be recalled that before now, Chief Mrs. Remi Adiukwu was with the
opposition PDP, where she contested to be the Deputy National Women Leader at
the convention of the party, but lost as her name was UNDEMOCRATIC ALLY removed
by the governor of Rivers State, Nyesom Wike who took over the leadership of
the party, sidelining members who have contributed far better than he ever
could imagine.
