On
the 3rd of August, Dr. Uche Ogah (OON), while addressing the meeting of APC
leaders from across the state, said that there will be a revolution in Abia
come 2019. It is obvious that this statement has shaken many opponents to their
foundation. Hence, their attempt to conjure meanings alluding to his statement
as a violence orchestration.
Now,
we in the Uchechukwu Sampson Ogah Movement (USOM) are amused at their
infantile interpretation and nibble attempt to MISCONSTRUE Dr. Uche Ogah's
statement. We are amused because it is obvious that they lack understanding of
context in the use of language and they are cheap in their attempt to misuse a
perfect statement.
But
there is NEED to elevate their KNOWLEDGE as part of our effort to rebuild Abia
State. Hence we want to use this medium to enlighten their minds and to set the
record straight.
1.
Everybody in Abia knows Dr Uche Ogah as a man of peace, ideas and progressive
philosophy. Violence has never been his style and there history to that effect.
But he cannot be intimidated.
2.
It is important to help his traducers understand that as an educated leader and
international businessman he uses his words intentionally. Therefore, there no
need to be MISCONSTRUED.
3.
In case they don't understand what Dr. Uche Ogah meant by what he said; there
will be a revolution in Abia State come 2019 and his idea of a revolution is
Economic, Social, Political and Infrastructural.
4.
Dr. Uche Ogah is not a military man and as such can’t be calling for a military
kind of revolution. Rather he is calling for people backed revolution through
the ballot to change the bad and failed leadership in Abia State. By his
statement, he is telling those in government to start preparing their Handover
Note than trying to score cheap political capital out of nothing, because
Abians have made up their minds to partner with USOM to retire them and no
amount of propaganda can stop that.
5.
In political science, a revolution (Latin: revolutio, "a turn
around") is a fundamental and relatively sudden change in political power
and political organization which occurs when the population revolt against the
government, typically due to perceived oppression (political, social,
economic). It is obvious that the populace in Abia are being oppressed by those
who have refused to pay their salaries; pensions and gratuities. It is obvious
that the populace in Abia are being oppressed by those who have refused to
construct modern roads; drainages; modern markets; modern schools; modern
hospitals; world class security architecture; industrial estates; new towns and
cities; revitalise old industries; provide employment for Abia youths; ensure
clean-green-beautiful environment; pave their streets; provide street lights;
attract quality foreign investments; raise the standard of living in Abia;
account for billions of Naira that have accrued to the state under their watch
and provide open, accountable and transparent leadership.
6.
Hence, his statement is a call for a radical complete change. A call for a
fundamental change in political organization; especially: the renunciation of
bad governance, coffin carriers and the substitution of wicked order with good
governance and development. His statement and activities are designed to effect
fundamental changes in the socioeconomic situation in Abia State and we don't
have apologise to make for that.
7.
All Abians agree with Dr. Uche Ogah that there is a need for a fundamental
change in the way of thinking about governance in Abia State visualizing
development; a need for a change of paradigm.
