Chief Mrs. Remi Adiukwu. Incoming Deputy Governor of Lagos State. |
Chief
Mrs. Remi Adiukwu is no stranger to a wield range of individuals in and out of
politics as her name is one that rings louder than an Anglican Church early
morning bell and opens doors at different levels, both in the Lagos political circle
and in Nigeria, having come a long in politics.
As
Commissioner for Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs under the National
Leader of the APC, Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu as governor, she was one of those
who helped galvanize that administration, especially at the grassroot level,
even at the time when her then boss, Bola Tinubu took the bulls by their horns
to create additional Local Council Developmental Areas which led to the war
between him, the Lagos State government and former President Olusegun Obasanjo.
Chief
Remi Adiukwu’s desire for better Lagos led to her wanting to be governor of
Lagos State, desiring very openly to take over from Tinubu, but was denied that
opportunity due to party rules which didn’t favour her candidacy the.
The
great news therefore is that the APC in Lagos is considering using her as the stabilizing
factor in the government that will come after the current one, and whoever
emerges the governorship candidate will have the amiable Chief Mrs. Remi
Adiukwu as his running mate for Deputy Governor.
Within
the Lagos political sector, Chief (Mrs.) Elizabeth Oluremi Adiukwu is a force
to reckon with because of her strong political influence and structure. She has
a strong political base in Oshodi where she is from.

Executive Member of the defunct Unity Party of Nigeria (UPN) in Lagos State. In
the early 90’s, Mrs. Adiukwu bestrode Third Republic politics with impressive
