Ihedioha emerged candidate after he won the primaries of the party, defeating five other aspirants who contested for the party ticket with him.
He pulled 1723 votes above Senator Samuel Anyanwu who came second with 1282, Senator Athan Achonu, 63, Professor Jude Njoku, 21, Chief Chukwuma Ekomaru, 7 and Benneth Ezeji, 1 vote.
With the victory of Ihedioha, the governorship election in Imo State will be very tough come 2019 as the gladiators are working very hard to take the Douglas house from the Rochas Okorochas family who have decided to immortalize themselves in the Government of Imo State.
