FEW DAYS AGO: Very vocal and sometimes very controversial actor, Funke Adesiyan is now the candidate of the All Progressives Congress, APC, for Ibadan South-East in the primaries of the party held to select candidates who will represent the people in the House of Assembly.


The actor who is always at loggerheads with celebrity blogger, Linda Ikeji over the bloggers incessant attack on her person for no reason or reasons scored 207 votes against her contender who scored only 32 votes.

AFTER SOME HOURS: Funke Adesiyan took to her Instagram to narrate her ordeal in the hands of party men in Oyo State who she claimed swapped her already announced mandate for that of an anointed candidate who couldn't pull votes to prove his popularity with the people.

She wrote: While I am not quite happy that mu hard-earned mandate was taken from me, as this stands against the principles with which I stand for, I can't go against the wish of our great party, the All Progressives Congress. I can't understand why people, who bought forms sold at exorbitant prices, went for primaries and emerged winners only to be told that their names had been swapped for other anointed candidates. one maybe tempted to ask why we had primaries in the first place if the part's hidden agenda was to impose candidates.

This is one old injustice that has continued to dwarf the progress and entrenchment of internal democracy, one that has denied many people the full blessings of fulfilling their ambitions politically.

There is no better evidence of this than the brazen act of injustice that forced me to surrender may mandate.
