Limelight
Multi-Projects Limited has announced the launch of her event, “Ndigbo Heritage
Carnival” which is an annual Carnival designed to awaken, protect, preserve,
and promote Igbo cultures and heritage/tradition which is fast facing modern
threat from western civilization as the world is turning into a global village.
The
Carnival is a platform created to bring together, Ndigbo from all strata of
human existence in an atmosphere that helps harness their Igbo potentials
across board.
According
to the CEO of Limelight Multi-Projects Ltd and Nollywood Actor, Chioma Igwe,
this event seeks to bring together all Igbos in Lagos and its environs in an
atmosphere of unity and love, as our desire is to have Igbos come together, rub
minds, celebrate each other and use the opportunity to chart a front for the
development of Igbos in Lagos and in Nigerian in general.

Igwe further stated that the event will showcase the best of Igbo culture and
tradition, Carnival street dance and displays, Igbo language basic classes for
children, Interactive session between parents and children, Igbo costumes and
fashion parade, Cultural dance and displays, Competition amongst children,
Award of prizes to the Children, Celebrity kids to entertain the children,
Breaking of the “Igbo traditional kolanut”, All state cultural dance and
Masquerade display, Display of varieties of Igbo food and delicacies, Musical
presentation by Igbo musicians, Presentations by Igbo celebrities, Speeches by
very prominent Igbo sons and daughters, Talk-Shows centred on Igbo Culture,
Display and presentation of Igbo Arts and Crafts, Presentation of Awards to
Deserving Individuals.

Igwe says, that the project is brought to you with support from Nigeria
Breweries Plc makers of Life Beer, Intercontinental Distillers Limited makers
of Chelsea Dry Gin. Lush Hair and Noble Carpets. These are Nigerian brands
dedicated to helping culture and tradition thrive in the country.
“Ndigbo
Heritage Carnival” will bring together, individuals of repute who would anchor
the event, with Dr. Chigozie Bright Nnabuihe, PhD. Associate Professor of Igbo
Language, Department of Linguistics, African & Asians Studies, Faculty Of
Arts, University of Lagos as the keynote speaker. Chief Anayo Alozie, Ihuarugo
of Egbema Kingdom, the Former Managing Director Imo State Oil Producing Area
Department Commission as Chairman of the Day. Princess Aderele Adeniran Ogunsanya(Ada
Ndigbo), Former SSG Lagos State as Matron of Ndigbo Heritage Carnival and
Mother of the Day. Mrs. Priscilla Ikeji, Former Woman Leader, Ohanaeze Ndigbo
Women Wing as Mother of the Day. Hon. Moshood Salvador as Father of Day. HRH,
Eze Dr Gordian Dim Ogidi, Eze Igbo Amuwo Odofin/Chairman Ndi Ezeudo and Title
Holders Ass. Lagos as Royal Father of the Day. High Chief Solomon Ogbonna
Aguene, President, Ohanaeze Ndigbo, Lagos State, with other prominent Igbo sons
and daughters.
The
event holds on Saturday, the 26th of January, 2019 at the prestigious FHA
Field, 23 Road, Festac Town, Lagos State and it seeks to create an atmosphere
for continued peace and harmony between indigenes of Lagos State and those of
other tribes, especially the Igbos.
