Comic Yoruba actor, who has been sick for some time nw, Babatunde
Omidina, popularly known as Baba Suwe, was yesterday, taken to the Lagos
University Teaching Hospital (LUTH) on a wheelchair.
The 60-year-old actor arrived the hospital in company of
executives of the Theatre Arts and Motion Pictures Association of Nigeria
(TAMPAN) led by its President, Mr. Bolaji Amusan who facilitated the admission
with the assistance of the Federal Ministry of Health.
A statement from the association disclosed that the minister of health, Prof Isaac Adewole, directed that the actor be given “first class medical attention and treatment” following appeals by TAMPAN president, Bolaji Amusan which was granted through the office of the Vice President, Prof. Yemi Osinbajo.
It added that the minister lauded TAMPAN for pulling together resources for the comedian, promising the association full support as it embarks on health insurance policy for its members.
TAMPAN president, Otunba Bolaji Amusan, who was really
appreciative of the honourable minister’s quick response wishes to equally say
a big thank you to the Federal Government of Nigeria for giving the association
a listening ear.
