Theresa May |
Downing Street has insisted the government will publish the PM's revised deal tomorrow amid an angry backlash.
But following the resignation of Leader of the House Andrea Leadsom, Theresa May's position looks increasingly perilous.
Mrs May will meet the chair of the 1922 committee Sir Graham Brady when she is expected to give a date for her resignation.
She is expected to announce her resignation, although she'll stay as interim leader while a new PM is elected by Tory MPs and members.
Her already shaky grip on power was fatally undermined by offering the prospect of a possible second referendum and closer trading arrangements with the EU in an attempt to try and persuade Remain-supporting MPs and Labour to help her deal to clear the Commons.
But those concessions triggered a revolt by some Brexit-supporting ministers including the resignation of Andrea Leadsom.
"I no longer believe that our approach will deliver on the referendum result," Leadsom, once a challenger to May to become prime minister, said in a resignation letter.
