Speaking at the event, the Convener of AFRIMS, Prince Sixtus Opara said that the award on the IGP is in celebration of his contributions to Nigeria since he was appointed and has helped to change the face of policing in the country.

According to him, the honour on Mr. Abubakar Adamu makes him the “THE MOST OUTSTANDING PERSON IN THE MAINTENANCE OF LAW, ORDER AND PRESERVATION OF LIVES” as on assumption of office, he swung to action and had launched the Operation Puff Adder which is meant to combat the menace of crime and loss of lives of Nigerians, over 63 deadly gangs have been routed and arrested across, with thousands of arms and ammunitions confiscated.

Nigeria has seen many Police operations since 1960, AFRIMS Boss said, but Operation Puff Adder stands head and shoulders high above most others and it is the opinion of the organizers of AFRIMS that those who risks their lives on daily bases to protect humanity should be honored, recognized , appreciated and commended, hence the award on the IGP, Mohammed Abubakar Adamu.
