IMPRESSIVE: President Buhari Recommends Yahaya Bello Of Kogi State Programmes To Other Governors.

President Muhammadu Buhari during the week, challenged other State Governors to pay more attention in the areas of security, health, education and agriculture so as to address the menace of poverty in the society.

Buhari gave the challenge on Thursday, when he inaugurated the 2019 to 2023 National Economic Council at the Presidential Villa, Abuja.

Fortunately, Kogi state governor, Alhaji Yahaya Adoza Bello since assumption of office has being prioritizing sectors outlined by the President.

The new direction administration policy document contains a road map for Kogi state development with SMART mechanism for evaluating achievements in the short and long terms.

Governor Yahaya Bello having led his team to record geometric growth in the state Internally Generated Revenue by increasing it to N1.3billion from N300million monthly is now aiming at raising Kogi IGR to N3billion. 

Therefore, the President's lecture was just revision class for GYB. He has received accolades from local and international organizations for enhancing security architecture of the state.

Similarly, the establishment of Osara Cassava Estate and Rice Processing Mill at Ejiba shows the new direction administration commitment to harness opportunities in Agriculture sector to expand the state economy. 

In health sector, Governor Bello administration has improved standard of health service delivery, adding that shortage of drugs and other facilities are no longer the challenge in health sector. Over 200 Primary health centres have been given facelift by the new direction administration in order to bring quality healthcare services closer to Kogites at the grassroots.

Other programmes being implemented by current administration  include construction of Advanced medical Diagnostic and Imaging Center, Lokoja. (CAMDIC)almost at completion stage,  Construction of Hostel Blocks, Kogi State College of Nursing and midwifery, Obangede,  Construction of State Public Health Emergency Operation Center (KSPHEOC), Construction of State Nutrition House, Free medical outreach under Bello Health Intervention Initiative, Professional Training of Health Care Officials across the State and free medical and surgical treatment of over fifty thousand patients.

Consequently, the state government is attracting some donor agencies back to the state in order to complement Governor Yahaya Bello's efforts to provide affordable and quality healthcare for Kogites. 

Although, poverty and unemployment are critical issues affecting the whole country but Kogi state has made significant gains under the leadership of Governor Yahaya Bello. Latest report of National Bureau of Statistics revealed that unemployment/underemployment has reduced in the state due to some programmes and policies implemented by the new direction administration.

It's therefore imperative for Kogites to support Governor Yahaya Bello for second term to solidify the good foundation he has laid for economic growth and overall development of Kogi state.
