Our Consideration To Host The NATIONAL CONVENTION Of The “Actors Guild Of Nigeria”, AGN In Bayelsa State Is In Recognition Of The State Governor’s Love For The Industry – AGN President, Emeka Rollas.

The Governor of Bayelsa State, Rt. Hon. Seriake Dickson is one governor amongst Governors in Nigeria whose track records in the history of not only Bayelsa State, the Niger-Delta, but Nigeria in general cannot be overlooked, as he has, since the inception of his administration in 2012, made a complete turn-around of the fortunes of the economy of the state in all ramifications.

           

Seriake Dickson has so endeared himself to people across the broad spectrum of human existence, that even those who do not have same political family linage with him cannot exactly stand to make nothing of his prowess in the development of the state and this is not unconnected too with the kind of people who work with him as his appointees.

Infact, it has been repeatedly said at different foras that the Governor of Bayelasa State has the best hands working with him in different capacities, with the assembly of men and women of character and reputation, on whose necks are saddled, the responsibility of overseeing the different sectors of the state. Sure, this has been his success strategy.

Recent of such assembly is the appointment of his Special Adviser on Special Duties and Youth Mobilization, Comrade Edede Franklyne Maduabuchi, a man from Imo State, whose only qualification for such a huge responsibility is that he is a Nigerian, and maybe, a member of same and his very impressive resume, but giving an Igboman such a huge responsibility in far away Bayelsa, shows the Governor to have a good sense of choice for quality individuals and respectable personalities.

The appointment of Comrade Edede Franklyne Maduabuchi has therefore drawn the attention of the very reputable Actors Guild of Nigeria, AGN, the umbrella body of all practitioners in the Movie Industry, popularly called Nollywood and the leadership has decided to move to where the light of development shines brighter as “HOST STATE” for their annual National Convention, which is a platform created by the association for the election into various offices, of its members.   

According to the National President of the Actors Guild of Nigeria, AGN, Prince Emeka Rollas Ejezie, Bayelsa State has supported the Movie Industry in the past in a very huge way and it is very expedient of us to look in the direction of the state to host our National Convention to show appreciation to a state that has given so much to our industry and a Governor who has done so much to improve on the lives of the people who voted him to power.

Speaking further, Emeka Rollas says: Our collective consideration of Bayelsa State as choice for the Actors Guild of Nigeria, AGN elective convention is predicated upon the support of the industry from the Bayelsa State Government over the years and for a Governor who knows his onions, like Hon. Seriake Dickson, whose transformation of Bayelsa has been noised abroad, we therefore would love to be partakers of such a character whose people are proud to associate with for his strides in the development of not only the state, but the citizens of the state as well.

It is on record, the AGN President continued, that the State had in the past hosted the African Movie Academy Awards, AMAA, so, having the elective actors convention in Bayelsa will go a long in introducing new programmes to Bayelsa film makers and at the same time, create job for the teaming youths in the state.
