The
Actors Guild of Nigeria through its President, Mr. Emeka Rollas-Ejezie has come
out in strong terms to condemn the killings going on across Nigeria and in
Sokoto State in particular, which claimed the lives of over 25 indigenes of the
various communities where the attackers caused mayhem.
According
to him, the attack on Saturday on three communities in the Rabah Local
Government Area of Sokoto State came to the AGN as a rude shock, as the
association is of the opinion that these deaths are way too much and very frequent,
making us wonder how exactly it is that people take pleasure in taking the
lives of others?
We
therefore would like to send our deep and sincere commiseration, Mr. Rollas
says, to the Governor of the state, Rt. Hon. Aminu Tambuwal, who had to attended
the funeral of the 25 persons who were killed in cold blood by the bandicts on
a Sunday, mourning with his people, a quality a lot of governors do not
possess.
We
at AGN collectively pray that these afflictions would not arise in Sokoto State
any further, as we declare peace over the lives of the people of Sokoto and
wisdom on Tambuwal to lead his people aright.
We
also called on the President, Muhammadu Buhari to take charge of the security
of the lives and properties of Nigerians, especially those who live in the
northern part of the country, so these killings would be stopped.
Emeka
Rollas-Ejezie also congratulated the governor on the inauguration of the State
Assembly, praying for the success of his second term administration in Sokoto
State.
