Kogi
State Governor, Alh Yahaya Bello, has described the death of an elder statesman
and Chairman, Kogi East Elders Advisory Council Alhaji Ibrahim Linco Ocheje as
a great loss to the people of Kogi State in particular and Nigeria in
general.
While
commiserating with the family of the late political icon, Gov Bello described
the news of Linco’s death as “a rude shock and great loss not only to his
family and the State but Nigeria in general, given his invaluable contributions
to the political and economic development of the state.
In
a condolence message signed by his Chief Press Secretary, Onogwu Muhammed,
Bello described Alhaji Ibrahim Linco as “a quintessential, astute leader and
businessman who devoted his life to the service of God and humanity.’’
“I
received with shock, news of the passing of Alhaji Ibrahim Linco Ocheje (Ailo),
The Chairman, Kogi State Elders Advisory Council, East, whose sad event took
place today. Words are insufficient to condole one on a death of loved one, but
I do urge you to take solace in the life that he lived. I have no doubt that
Linco’s political and leadership impact and reach will continue to be felt
through the lives of the people and Government of Kogi State especially his
political protege and associates through his kind advice.
On
behalf of the People of Kogi State, my family and myself, I offer you our deep
condolences while praying the Almighty God to grant you, the rest of your
family, the grace to endure this irreparable loss”.
Born
29 July 1949, Ibrahim Linco Ocheje passed on Friday, 21 June 2019 after a brief
illness at the age of 69.
