The
Executive Director Annual African Youth Economic & Business Summit Group,
AAYEBSG, Comrade Edede Franklin and his management team, yesterday, paid a
courtesy visit to the Director General of the National Orientation Agency, NOA
concerning the forthcoming summit scheduled to hold in September, and the
group's proposal to the agency for endorsement and partnership, on the request
of the DG who had called for the visit to enable the group explain to him and
the NOA Board, the areas they seek partnership for.
Speaking
at the meeting, Comrade Edede Franklin, told the DG who was represented by one
of his aides, that this year's summit seeks to address the problems of poverty,
unemployment, and general insecurity on the African continent, through
extensive interactions and presentations by stakeholders in both private and
public sectors, and security experts across Africa.
He
said the theme of the summit is in line with President Buhari's tripartite
policy agenda of improving the economy, fighting corruption, and insecurity,
and is also in synch with NOA's objective of promoting positive values in the
society through mass orientation and transformation, adding that a program such
as this seeks to transform and orientate the youths, hence the National
Orientation Agency, NOA, is an important strategic partner.
While
informing the DG of the group's plan to invite notable speakers like Julius
Malema of South Africa, Prof. Patrick Lumumba of Kenya, etc, he said the group
would need the support of the agency in the areas of logistics, like media
coverage, hall etc.
In
his response, the DG's representative who was visibly satisfied with the
Executive Director's explanations, assured the group of the agency's
endorsement and support.
