Ekweremadu being beaten. |
The
Chairman and CEO of the Nigerians In Diaspora Commission, NDIC, Abike
Dabiri-Erewa has condemned in its entirety, the attack on the Former Deputy
Senate President, Senator Ike Ekweremadu at the 2nd Annual Igbo Cultural Festival
which held in Nuremberg, Germany.
Senator Ekweremadu
attended the event organized by the Ndi-Igbo Community in Germany as a Speaker
and Special Guest and was reportedly beaten up and egged publicly.
Abike
Dabiri says that the incident is an embarrassment to the country. Very shamefully
pathetic that an event which was nobly put together by the Ndi-Igbo Community
in Germany whose members are made up of Nigerians living in Germany to provide
a forum for the Diasporans and other stakeholders to network for better
cooperation between Nigeria and German businesses, ended in such a very
disgraceful manner.
She appealed to Nigerians
to be of good behavior wherever they find themselves, because an incident such
as what happened to Senator Ekweremadu in Germany is capable of tarnishing the
image of the country and ruining the reputation the government of President
Muhammadu Buhari has tried very hard to build amongst our brothers outside the
country.
