Nollywood Comic Actor, Charles Awurum Appointed “Special Assistant”, Entertainment To Imo State Governor, Emeka Ihedioha.

The movie industry in Nigeria, popularly called Nollywood seem to have found a resting place with the government of Imo State, as one of Nigeria’s veteran actors, Charles Awurum has been found worthy to oversee issues bothering on entertainment in the state, with his appointment as Special Assistant to the Governor of the state on Entertainment.


Charles Awurum was born and raised in Lagos State in the South Western part of Nigeria, attended basic schools here, before proceeding to the University of Calabar for his Degree program.

Married for over 11 years now with 3 boys, Charles has been Brand Ambassador for Globacomm and one of those who stuck out their necks to support the governorship bid of Rt. Hon. Emeka Ihedioha, who is today, the Governor of Imo State.

Reacting to his appointment, he thanked God for the opportunity to use his talent,  wealth of experience and contacts  in the Nollywood  to serve the state  and the Governor for finding him worthy at this time to be of service to the State of Imo.
