With A Mother Like “MRS. ALABA KAREEM ADEYERI”, What Other Ancestral Enemy Does A Child Need?

News broke a few days ago from the office of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC about a mother and her son who together bagged a 12 years jail term each for a $82,570 Internet Fraud and one begins to ponder on what exactly parenting has become these days, where parents encourage their wards to deliberately go into crimes and criminality, and even go as far as backing them up spiritually to see them succeed in crime.

It was reported that Justice Chukwujekwu Aneke of the Federal High Court in Ikoyi, Lagos, on Tuesday, January 28, 2020, convicted Damilola Ahmed Adeyeri and his mother, Alaba Kareem Adeyeri, on a four-count charge.

They were convicted on charges bordering on conspiracy and obtaining money under false pretense to the tune of $82, 570. 00, (Eighty Two Thousand Five Hundred and Seventy, US Dollars), in a case preferred against them by the EFCC.

How on earth would a mother collaborate with her son to dupe or extort money from anyone in the first place, and this is exactly what the society is gradually becoming, where parents push their children to criminality through excessive demands and desires for material things from them.

Hoping that this will go a long way in pointing a lot of families, especially, parents in the right direction, we believe that efforts should be intensified in making sure that young men like Damilola Ahmed Adeyeri are taught some big lessons of life.

So, one can only agree that Mrs. Alaba Kareem Adeyeri is actually the enemy of her own son, whom she has successfully sent to jail and gracefully, she is in with him.
