Britains First Trangender Parents Welcome Baby Girl.

Britain's first transgender parents have welcomed their new baby daughter and shared a family snap.

Hannah and Jake Graf cradled their newborn after choosing a surrogate to give birth to their child.

Mum Hannah, 33, served as the highest-ranking trans officer in the British Army, before she left in 2018 to start a family.

She came out as a transgender woman in 2013 after serving in Afghanistan as Captain Winterbourne.

Hannah met Jake, 42, who had transitioned in 2008 and the couple went on to use frozen eggs after Jake briefly came off testosterone.

The pair also chose a sperm donor before the fertilised egg was implanted in their chosen surrogate who gave birth last Tuesday.

Hannah and Jake said they found their surrogate through the National Fertility Society - with Hannah joking it was "a little bit like dating", reports the Sun.

She said: "I think our surrogate – who is a very warm, practical person with children of her own – got the sense that we were a happy couple who love each other; that we’ll be good parents.”

The couple said they "couldn't be happier" and plan to raise their daughter however she wants to live her life.

Jake, an actor, said: "We know how incredibly hard it is to be transgender and we want the exact opposite for our daughter."

Hannah and Jake got married in 2018 in a ceremony of less than 20 guests each.
