COVID-19: NDDC Shuts Down Activities For 2 Weeks Following News That It's EDF, Ibanga Bassey Etang Died Of Coronavirus.

Following the announcement of the sudden death of the Acting Executive Director, Finance of the Nigeria Delta Development Commission, NDDC, Mr. Ibanga Bassey Etang, the commission has been shot down for two weeks.


A memo signed by one Silas Anyanwu directed that the commission be short down starting from the 28th of May, with all activities and ongoing matters be suspended.
The memo also directed the Head of Security of the commission to work out modalities to ensure the safety and security of the commission while the Director of Administration is requested to ensure that the whole commission's premises and offices are fumigated and decontaminated during the period.

This is coming at a time when the Senate probe of the NDDC is scheduled to take place in a few days and the said dead Director was to be queried over his and his cronies involvements with the commissions finances.

Initially, reports had it that the now late Ag. Director of Fiance, Etang was poisoned, until the story changed and Covid-19 was brought in to replace poison as the cause of his death, therefore the need for the suspension of NDDC's activities, which also would affect the appearance of the Interim Management Committee,IMC, members before the Senate.
