The Executive Chairman of Ikosi-Isheri Local Council Development Area, LCDA, in Lagos, Princess Samiat Abolanle Bada, on Friday at the council secretariat distributed 1500 food packs to different categories of residents of the council as their Eid-El-Fitr gifts.

Delivering the gift packs, the Mayoress as she is popularly called, stated that the distribution of the food palliative is an initiative of her administration which started in February 2020 as a monthly welfare programme targeted at the aged and widows in the council area, adding that this month (May) edition is extended to other residents such as the youths, artisans, people living with disabilities, religious and community leaders in commemoration of the Ramadan festival.

Enjoining them to obey all the precautionary measures laid down by the Federal and Lagos State Governments in the fight against the coronavirus disease, Princess Bada assured all the beneficiaries that she will continue to make their welfare a top priority of her administration.

The food packs which contained rice, beans and garri, were distributed to the beneficiaries with strict adherence to the social and physical distancing rules, with all the recipients showering encomiums on the council chairman for her magnanimity, even as she gifted them with free face masks each for their safety.

The event was witnessed by the Vice Chairman of Ikosi-Isheri LCDA, Alhaji Mukail Adisa, the council's Chairperson, Mrs. Muyibat Balogun, Leader of the council's Legislature, Hon Ajibola Usman, other elected councilors and supervisors.
