The
Executive Chairman of Ikosi-Isheri Local Council Development Area, LCDA, in
Lagos, Princess Samiat Abolanle Bada, on Friday at the council secretariat
distributed 1500 food packs to different categories of residents of the council
as their Eid-El-Fitr gifts.
Delivering
the gift packs, the Mayoress as she is popularly called, stated that the
distribution of the food palliative is an initiative of her administration
which started in February 2020 as a monthly welfare programme targeted at the
aged and widows in the council area, adding that this month (May) edition is
extended to other residents such as the youths, artisans, people living with
disabilities, religious and community leaders in commemoration of the Ramadan
festival.
Enjoining
them to obey all the precautionary measures laid down by the Federal and Lagos
State Governments in the fight against the coronavirus disease, Princess Bada
assured all the beneficiaries that she will continue to make their welfare a
top priority of her administration.
The
food packs which contained rice, beans and garri, were distributed to the beneficiaries
with strict adherence to the social and physical distancing rules, with all the
recipients showering encomiums on the council chairman for her magnanimity,
even as she gifted them with free face masks each for their safety.
The
event was witnessed by the Vice Chairman of Ikosi-Isheri LCDA, Alhaji Mukail
Adisa, the council's Chairperson, Mrs. Muyibat Balogun, Leader of the council's
Legislature, Hon Ajibola Usman, other elected councilors and supervisors.
