Following the alleged and controversial COVID-19 index case in Kogi State, the Governor, Yahaya Bello has, in a state broadcast on Monday, 1st of June, 2020, declared a 14 days Total Lockdown of Kabba-Bunu LGA of the State effective from 12 midnight June 2nd.
During the Lockdown the Governor says, there shall be no house to house movement within the local government area, street movements will be prohibited within the period, as the government will take the palliatives and distribute same to residents of the LGA in their houses.
Furthermore, contact tracing the governor said, would be carried out house to house to identify those who may have made contact with the alleged Kogi COVID-19 index persons; the Chief Imam of Kabba and his Son within the local government area by the Kogi State incident management team with all the enforcements covered by mainstream media outfits for total disclosure of the activities of the Incident Management team.
The Governor further directed Health Workers who made contacts with the alleged index case to proceed on self-isolation immediately with all security agencies in the state to enforce total compliance with the lock down order by the Governor.
All
citizens and residents of the state are advised continue to adhere to the NCDC
guideline as the state still remain COVID-19 free.
