Governors praying for Ajimobi. |
Kogi
State Governor, Yahaya Bello on Friday joined some of his counterparts to pray
for the peaceful repose of the late Senator Abiola Ajimobi.
Ajimobi,
immediate past governor of Oyo State died yesterday in a Lagos hospital at the
age of 70 due to multiple organ failure and was buried on Friday according to
Islamic rites.
Governor
Yahaya Bello alongside five other governors gathered at the Kano State
Governor's Lodge in Abuja to pray for the repose of the soul of the former
governor in observance of COVID-19 protocols.
The
governors who offered the prayers include Governor Abdullahi Ganduje of Kano
who is an inlaw to the late Ajimobi; Mai Mala Buni of Yobe; Atiku Bagudu of
Kebbi; Ekiti State Governor and Chairman, Nigeria Governors' Forum (NGF), Kayode
Fayemi and Niger State Governor Sani Bello
According
to the statement, the family of Ajimobi had earlier urged sympathisers, well
wishers and mourners to pray for the late former governor in their various
location in adherence to COVID-19 guidelines.
