O’Diakpo Obire Congratulates Ghanaian President, Akufo-Addo On His Emergence As ECOWAS Chairman, Urges Him To Tackle Challenges Facing The Region Head-On.

The President, Good Leadership Advocacy For Africa (GLAFA), Dr. O’Diakpo Obire, has congratulated the President of Ghana, His Excellency Nana Akufo-Addo on his election as the Chairman of the Economic Community of West African States (ECOWAS).

In the statement made available to news men in Abuja by his Special Assistant on Media & Publicity, Comrade Ugasa O’Karo Musa, Dr. Obire said GLAFA is happy to receive the news of the election of President of the Republic of Ghana, His Excellency Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo as the Chairman of the Economic Community of West African States (ECOWAS).

He wished the new ECOWAS Chairman a successful tenure, and urged him to speed up the attainment of some of the challenges the region is facing, including: Reduction of rising incidents of terrorism, banditry and piracy in the sub-region. Speedy return of democracy and  good leadership in Mali, ECOWAS single currency program, Ensuring free and fair elections in the upcoming elections in Burkina Faso, Cote d'Ivoire, Ghana, Guinea and Niger, Speed up regional integration.
