How Minister of Labour & Employment, Chris Ngige Stole All Federal Appointments Meant For Anambra People For His Family Members Alone, APC Members Cry Out.

Dr. & Dr. Mrs Chris Ngige.

Men like Chris Ngige, the Minister of Labour and Employment are the people standing in between the administration of President Muhammadu Buhari and the people, creating bad images for the administration  as one without human face when they are the only ones benefiting from the battle fought by a collection of persons.

In recent times, one had wondered how the wife of a Federal Minister would rise to the position of Permanent Secretary so fast, a situation he is leveraging upon to either intimidate people or make mockery of the positions of other people.

To further buttress this point, member of the All Progressives Congress, APC, Local Government Area chapter chairmen from the three senatorial districts of Anambra State alongside state officers and stakeholders of the party have recently tasked President Muhammadu Buhari to nudge Senator Chris Ngige towards opening the party in the state.

The stakeholders in a letter to the president alleged that Ngige as the leader of the party in the state being the only minister from the state has not shown leadership in carrying the party members along and in the petition lamented that since his advent as minister and leader of the party in the state in 2015, that the APC has not won one office from councilor to governor.

The stakeholders who authored the open letter included Hon. Jideofor Ejimofor, APC Zonal Publicity Secretary Anambra North Zone; Emeka Kammelu, APC Chairman, Onitsha South Local Government Area; Chief Gody Offor, APC Chairman, Ekwusigo Local Government Area; Chief Henry Obiokpala, APC Zonal Youth Leader Anambra South and Chief Ugochukwu Egbobe, APC Chairman, Anaocha Local Government Area.

Others who signed the letter included Chief Joseph Molokwu, APC Chairman, Ayamelum LGA and Chief Paul Chuks Umenduka, APC Chairman, Aguata LGA.

According to them, “We thank Mr. President for graciously reappointing Senator Dr Chris Ngige as Minister of Labour & Productivity, appointing his wife, Dr Mrs. Evelyn Ngige as Permanent Secretary, Office of Head of Service (Welfare Office); his biological brother Barr Emeka Ngige SAN as Chairman, Council of Legal Education; his elder brother, Chief Edwin Ngige and his maternal uncle Mr. Emma CJ Nwosu as Chairmen of Federal Boards; his biological sister, Barr Bene Nwachukwu (nee Ngige) and his cousin, Uzoma Igbonwa as Members of Board of NACA, amongst others.

Furthermore, “May we sadly inform Mr. President that since the registration of All Progressives Congress (APC) on 31st July 2013 by INEC, with Dr. Chris Ngige as its Leader in Anambra State, APC HAS NEVER WON ANY ELECTION anywhere in the state; whether Councillorship, Local Government Chairmanship, House of Assembly, House of Representatives, Senate or Governorship. “It may also interest Mr. President to know that the Councilor representing Alor ward (Chris Ngige’s ward), whether elected or appointed since the inception of APC has always been of APGA extraction. “Same apply to the House Member representing the Minister’s State Constituency. Presently, his Federal Constituency has a PDP House of Reps Member.”

One therefore wonders why a minister, who has never delivered even his own ward in Alor, would be made to get all these allocations, including the leadership position of the party in Anambra State in the first instance? Should a party leader not be someone under whose purview the party has gone to election and come out victorious in the state? So of what political importance or relevance is Dr. Chris Ngige to the APC for him to enjoy the privilege of securing all the political appointments meant for party faithful in the state to only his family members?

How does one person take to himself and his family alone, Minister, his wife, Permanent Secretary, his younger brother, his elder brother, his uncle, his younger sister, his cousin, all shared the federal appointments meant for APC Anambra state and he feels nothing is wrong with this arrangement?

How exactly will the All Progressives Congress, APC win a ward election in the state when one man has pocketed the party, meaning that the APC in Anambra is a one man party, thereby creating bad image for the President who is assumed not to care for the people of the South-East.

The earlier the President and the party rises up for the occasion in Anambra, the better as one cannot be allowed this level of liberty that had transcended to impunity.
