“WHEN THE RIGHTEOUS IS IN POWER” The People Rejoice – The 14Months Of Princess Samiat Abolanle Bada As Chairman Of Ikosi-Isheri LCDA.

On her Inauguration.

In the last 14 months, the Princess Samiat Abolanle Bada’s led administration as Executive Chairman of Ikosi-Isheri Local Council Development Area, took time during the week to tell her constituents what she has been up-to since she assumed position.

According to her, her coming to power has seen her administration's landmark achievements in the last 14 months, with an assurance to residents of the council of more dividends of democracy, if given another chance to serve them as she promises that her first time coming as the elected Chairman of the council, she will see do more for them.

The Mayoress took time to list some of her achievements when she hosted the media at the council secretariat to an interactive session.

According Princess Bada, some of the achievements to include, rehabilitation of Femi Oguns street in Magodo, Ademola Osinowo street in Ikosi,Alhaji Yekini Aromolate street, Ketu, Jamiu Balogun and Elegbeleye streets, Ketu among others. 

She also mentioned some of the ongoing construction and remodeling of Ikosi fruits market, which according to her, has reached seventy percent completion and the establishment of the first customary court situated at the council secretariat and ongoing construction of the three storey administrative block ,also at the council secretariat as other achievements of her administration in the last fourteen months.

On the development of primary school education, she disclosed that her administration, during the period under review, distributed various educational materials, furniture for teachers and pupils and hand sanitizers to the twelve public primary schools in the council area.

On Primary Health Care, Princess Bada submitted that her administration, since assumption of office on January 31st has been providing free drugs in all the primary health centres of the council adding that periodic immunization of children and provision of maternal care for mothers have been a top priority.

While acknowledging the fact that there were obstacles and challenges in the course of actualising many of her goals for the council, she noted that she did not allow the challenges to deter her from impacting positively in the lives of people of the council, as she distributed food packs and stipends to the elderly, widows and youths on a monthly basis. Related to this, according to her, was the periodic distribution of various food items to majority of residents within the council, during covid-19 lockdown restrictions.

Other achievements as listed by the Mayoress, include donation of utility vehicles to the police, revenue officers and chieftaincy committee, donation of 500 KVA transformer to Maidan Patele-Orile community, construction of pipe-borne water at Orisha Community and provision of potable water supply to Expressway   and Ikosi primary schools.
