He is popularly known as Chief Zebrudaya Okoroigwe Nwogbo alias 4:30, an appellation he got from his role as "Chief Zebrudaya" in a TV comedy series, New Masquerade (1983-1993).
He attended Prince Memorial High School at Onitsha, a city in Anambra State Southeastern Nigeria between 1964 to 1972. He later obtained a Bachelor of Science (B. sc) Degree from Enugu State University of Science and Technology in 1996.
Chika Okpala popularly known as Chief Zebrudaya is a famous Nigerian comic actor, producer, comedian, advertising practitioner and a television personality. He was born on 10th June 1950 in Onitsha, Anambra State in the south eastern part of Nigeria. He is 71 years old.
He is very gifted, skillful, creative and talented in acting and interpretation of movie roles. He knows how to interpret his roles very well and can fit in any character given to him by movie directors and producers in Nigeria.
Chika Okpala completed his primary school education in Onitsha, Anambra State in the south eastern part of Nigeria and obtained his First School Leaving Certificate in 1964. After completing his primary school education, Chika Okpala proceeded to Prince Memorial High School in Onitsha, Anambra State in the south eastern part of Nigeria and obtained his West African Senior School Certificate in 1972.
After completing his primary and secondary school education, Chika Okpala proceeded to Enugu State University of Science and Technology and graduated with a Bachelor’s Degree in Mass Communication in 1996.
In 1983, Chika Okpala acted in the television comedy series “New Masquerade” where he played the role of Chief Zebrudaya. The comedy series ran on television from 1983 to 1993 and made Chika Okpala a public figure and gave him the nickname “Chief Zebrudaya”.
Chika Okpala is one of Nigeria’s greatest comedians. His TV comedy series “New Masquerade” was probably the funniest of all TV comedies in Nigeria. It ran from 1983-1993. Chika Okpala became famous for using incorrect English in his role as Chief Zebrudaya and continued with that style years after New Masquerade was rested.
Chika Okpala has been honored with a Member of the Order of the Federal Republic (MFR) by the Federal Government of Nigeria for his contribution in the Nigerian entertainment industry. He has been described by many media organizations as a living legend.
Chika Okpala is currently one of the richest and most influential comedian and public figure in Nigeria actor.
