Lagos APC Women Leader, Jumoke Okoya-Thomas Mourns State's APC Treasurer, Sumbo Ajose.

Sumbo Ajose.

"When beggars die there are no comets seen; The heavens themselves blaze forth the death of princess."

The above quote by the legendary Williams Shakespeare were the words of the Women Representative of the Lagos State chapter of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Hon. Jumoke Okoya-Thomas on the death of Mrs. Sumbo Ajose.

Okoya-Thomas described as painful the passing of Mrs. Sumbo Ajose, the Treasurer of the APC caretaker committee in Lagos State.

Ajose, 55 years old, passed away in the United States of America Tuesday night.

The politician battled with an undisclosed illness and was receiving treatment until she succumbed.

According to Okoya-Thomas, "my sister Sumbo Ajose would be greatly missed by all of us. She was an epitome of humility, a team player, a woman of virtue and one in a million.

"Ajose came, she saw and she conquered. We will miss your warmth, sisterly love, loyalty to the party and consistency."

Okoya-Thomas reiterated that with Ajose's death, APC has lost one of its committed members, not just in Lagos State but in the country at large.

Okoya-Thomas stressed in a statement, which she personally signed, that Ajose's immeasurable contributions to the APC in Lagos State would remain indelible in the sand of time and that her good works can never be forgotten in a hurry.

Okoya-Thomas, who extended condolences to the family of the deceased and members of her political family, the APC, prayed for the repose of her soul, adding that a woman of her noble character deserves a place in the bossom of the Lord Jesus Christ.

"Sumbo Ajose is a committed state executive and politician who had the interest of the people at heart at all times.

"According to 1 Corinthians 15:55, "O death, where is thy sting? O grave, where is thy victory?

"We will all miss this great woman, she was a jolly good fellow, a disciplined fellow, whose love for both the party and the members are unquantifiable," she said.
