For questioning the veracity of the claims of killings by soldiers during the EndSARS protest by Nigerian youths in 2020.
The major claim is that while Nigerians called for justice to be served on those responsible for the Lekki Toll Gate Massacre that happened on 20th of October, 2020, Omotola Jalade-Ekeinde toke to her Twitter page to question the possibility of people being killed during the peaceful protest.
She
had suggested and urged the family of those who claim to have lost their
relatives during the incident to speak up and also asked that if nobody was
shot, then people should stop the sensationalisation of the Lekki Toll Gate
shooting.
Her
tweet then reads,
“If people died during the Lekki Toll Assualt, let their people speak out please, and if there were no death, then enough with the sensationalisation because it does not remove from the crime that happened. Peaceful protesters were, why? by who?”
Now,
with the emergence of reports presented by the Lagos Judicial Panel which
revealed the names of people who were killed, those missing and those injured
during the assault, Nigerians have dug out the tweets made by Omotola as some
are of the view that she was bought by the state government to make the
statement.
