CSR: UBA Foundation Spreads Joy Across Africa As She Gives Back To Communities In Her Catchment.

Leading financial institution, United Bank for Africa (UBA) Plc., through its UBA Foundation has continued to give back to the less privileged in the com­munities where she operates.

The Foundation recently in Lagos where the bank is headquartered, held a light up ceremony to mark the start of the festive season, where the Group Managing Direc­tor and Chief Executive Officer the bank arm of the group, UBA Plc., Kennedy Uzoka activated the garden light as he was joined by other key management staff and few customers of the bank.

According to Uzoka who also is Chair­man of UBA Foundation, “Giving back is the main tenet of UBA Foundation. We have over the years, engaged in vari­ous activities aimed at appreci­ating our host communities all around Africa and especially in countries where we operate and so for us, these lights symbolise hope for the future and all the goodness it will bring into peo­ple’s lives.”

“It is hard to believe that we have been in this pandemic for almost two years. People have lost friends and family mem­bers and businesses decimated by the effects of the pandemic. Therehasbeenageneralfeeling of hopelessness but our desire is to fill people’s lives with hope once again.” 

It is note-worthy that UBA Foundation has been very active in combating the spread of Covid-19 across Africa, with the banks donation of over $14 million to its communities across Africa to support the fight against the Covid-19 pandemic at the start of the pan­demic.
