SOMOLU LOCAL GOVERNMENT GOES AGOG AS CHAIRMAN, “DULLAR” HOSTS SANWO-OLU’S WIFE WHO CAME TO UNVEIL HEALTHCARE FACILITY.

The business community of Somolu went agog with drums, trumpets and accolades as the Executive Chairman, Hon. Abdul Hamed Salawu 'Dullar' hosted the First Lady of Lagos State, Dr. Ibijoke Claudiana Sanwo-Olu while unveiling the new state-of-the-art primary healthcare center.

 

While welcoming the First Lady who was the immediate past Medical Director of Somolu General Hospital, Hon. Abdul Hamed Salawu referred to it as an home coming for the Governor's wife in order to honour and appreciate her relentless efforts while serving as the MD of Somolu General Hospital in ensuring the residents of Somolu and it's environs enjoy good medical service. According to the council's helmsman, Dr. Ibijoke Sanwo-Olu is a mother to all who is well known as a medical doctor who always prioritizes the wellbeing of children and their mothers. He assured residents of Somolu on his dream of ensuring each of the geopolitical wards in Somolu gets a Primary Healthcare Center.

On his part, the vibrant lawmaker representing Somolu Constituency 1 in Lagos State House of Assembly, Hon. Rotimi Olowo, stared that he was more than happy to see the dreams of his "co-traveler" Hon. Abdul Hamed Salawu comes into reality. Olowo, the Chairman of House Committee on Finance, emphasised that the dream of the First Lady of Lagos State, a better, bigger and ultramodern Somolu General Hospital will surface in Somolu soon,

Meanwhile, Engr. Abiodun Orekoya, charged residents of Somolu and Lagosians at large to protect the social amenities put in place by the government for the betterment of the community. Orekoya, a former Somolu Local Government Vice Chairman and Executive Secretary who is now the Commissioner 1 of the Lagos State Local Governments Service Commission, noted that once people in communities begin to take and cherish government's intervention and projects within their area as theirs, more will be given by the government.

Commissioner for Local Governments and Community Affairs, Dr. Wale Ahmed who was ably represented by the Permanent Secretary of the ministry, Mrs. Kikelomo Sanyaolu congratulated Hon. Abdul Hamed Salawu for yet another giant stride towards complementing the efforts of Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu, especially in the area of health which is the letter 'H' in the T.H.E.M.E.S. agenda.

Meanwhile, Dr. Ibijoke Claudiana Sanwo-Olu said she's happy to be back home as the warm welcoming gladdened her mind with so much joy. She said the essence of a Primary Healthcare Center is to reduce the loads on Secondary Healthcare facilities such as the (General Hospitals), as Nigeria has a limited number of Tertiary (Teaching) Hospitals. She also appreciated Mrs. Mariam Omotanwa Salawu (Chairperson) and other mothers in Somolu for ensuring the mother-child healthcare gained lots of cooperation in Somolu.

However, the Anesthesia and Public Health expert used the opportunity to educate the public on the evils of domestic violence and non compliance with the COVID-19 vaccine as well as the booster vaccine to combat the deadly Omicron variant.

She also applauded the Hon. Abdul Hamed Salawu led administration of Somolu Local Government for its laudable people's oriented projects, especially on the monthly Elderly People Socio-Welfare where raw food stuff is usually shared freely. She said 'Mr. Koseleri' and 'Mr. Ijeun Agba' ascribed to 'Dullar' shows how sensitive the Chairman is to his people suffering. She also eulogised the Dr. Sunday Orebiyi medical team of Somolu Local Government.

Hon. Adekunle Ekiyemi (Vice Chairman), Hon. Yomi Osunkoya (Leader of Somolu Legislative Council),  Top ranking political, administrative, community and religious chiefs thronged the Oluwadare street venue of the commissioning as compared by ace broadcaster and Lagos Prince, Ibrahim Ladega. Committee of Wives of Lagos State Officials (COWLSO) were also ably represented by gorgeously dressed in radiant blue queens.
