The Acquired Immune Deficiency Syndrome, known as AIDS is the leading cause of deaths in the Republic of Ghana., and this information is according to statistics made available by the country’s AIDS Commission.
Annually, AIDS accounts for about 21,000 death in Ghana per statistics available, as a a post by StatsGH on Twitter reveals that there’s been an average of 21,000 deaths annually over the last five years.
According
to the Ghana AIDS Commission, the number of people living with HIV in Ghana is
346,000 and out of the 346,000 people living with HIV in Ghana, it’s estimated
that more 245,000 are on antiretroviral treatment.
