Former member of the House of Representatives, Hon. Emeka Atuma over the weekend declared that his aspirations for the governorship of Abia State is based on a two-fold premise: His vision for an Abia that fulfils the yearnings of Abians; And his capacity and ability to right the wrongs of yester-years.
Speaking before a gathering of All Progressive Congress, APC leaders, stakeholders and members at his Ntalakwu-Oboro Country home: "I made up my mind to join the governorship race for Abia State because a lot has gone wrong in our beloved State, and for the sake of our children and generations yet unborn, we need to contribute our all we have to right these wrongs.
"I am aspiring for Abia's governorship because I have the capacity, the ability, the creativity needed to take Abia to the next level.
"My aspiration is motivated by compassion and innovation. I am coming to deliver a legacy of service to our people. Our people says a good name is better than gold...if today, I fail to contribute in the building of a better Abia what legacy would I leave for our children and generations yet unborn.
"My politics has always been one of competence, creativity and dynamism, I am not running based on zoning, my vision as governor of Abia is a State that places the welfare of the people as its number one priority, a State that is in the forefront of wealth creation for its people, a State that uses its wealth for the betterment of all", Hon Atuma affirmed.
The
former lawmaker who represented Ikwuano/Umuahia North/ South in the House of
Representatives, from 2003-2007 is a household name in Abia Central Senatorial
district where though he is not in government he has been able to attract
several major road constructions linking several rural communities
