Former
Governor of Ogun State and Chairman, Senate Committee on Capital Market,
Senator Ibikunle Amosun, representing Ogun Central Senatorial District had
during the week written to the Senate about his intention to contest for the
office of the president, come this 2023 Presidential election.
The
letter which was read on Wednesday during plenary by the President of the
Senate, Senator Ahmad Lawan, Amosun announced his intention to declare for the
office of President on the 5th of May, 2022 at the Musa Yar’Adua Centre in
Abuja.

Senator
Ibikunle Amosun’s intention to contest for the most exalted position in the
land, makes him the third Senator of the APC extraction to join the
Presidential race and one of the former Governors to be nursing this same
intention.
In
the race with his as former governor are, Senator Rochas Okorocha, Adams
Oshiomhole, and a host of other former Governors.
It
is not clear yet what is singing for these former governors who are now on
refuse seeking in the senate, but time will tell.
The epic event will happen at 10am.
