Former Kogi Senator, Ahmed Ogembe Accuses Former Governorship Aspirant, Natasha Akpoti, Her New Husband, Emmanuel Uduaghan & PDP Chairman Of Orchestrating His Disqualification.

The people.

A former Senator who represented Kogi Central in the National Assembly, Ahmed Ogembe has not only confirmed his reported disqualification by the screening committee set up by the opposition party in the state, the People’s Democratic Party, PDP, to screen aspirants jostling for the party ticket in the senatorial election.

Speaking with newsmen, the former lawmaker confirmed the disqualification, describing it as a hatchet job plotted by his opponents, as he accused Barr. Natasha Akpoti, her new Husband, Chief Emmanuel Uduaghan and the Chairman of the party in the state, Engr. Sam Uhuotu of plotting the disqualification of major contenders for the Kogi Central Senatorial ticket.

Senator Ahmed Ogembe said that the plot started from Natasha’s new husband, Chief Emmanuel Uduaghan, whom he accused to have made sure that the Chairman of the National Assembly Screening Committee, Mr. Olorogun Jaro Egbo from Delta State who was strongly recommended by the State Governor, Dr. Ifeanyi Okowa and the reason for his disqualification was said to be out of the party’s guidelines for disqualification of aspirants.

According to him, the screening guideline is clear. If they disqualified me outside that guideline, if I go to court, I will nullify the entire process, as the process is not finished yet.

“How can we have seven aspirants and Natasha will disqualify four and keep three that she knew were weak? She disqualified Adamu Attah, she disqualified Adomu Etudaye, she disqualified me, and she disqualified M.I. Onimisi. Who does that? Especially when you are new in the party and in less than two months, you are causing problems for everybody.

“Even if I decide to use my delegates, do you think I will give it to her? Then, how does she think she will win now? Or I decide to go to court, that will nullify the entire process. We have seen something like this before, these are kangaroo stuffs. They brought somebody to come and do a hatchet job, they have done it, let’s see how far they can go with it.

Senator Ahmed Ogembe therefore threatened to nullify the entire primary election in court if he is not cleared by the appeal panel. It is not somebody like me they can do that to and get away with it. It’s not possible.

He says it’s Natasha’s husband and the party Chairman that is doing all these. It’s not a big deal, we’ll come out of it,” he added.
